Now that the weather's wet and wild, the chance of hanging your laundry outside to dry is practically non-existent. So it's now time to dust off your tumble dryer! It's going to become one of your most used appliance for the next few months. But how do you keep your tumble dryer in the best possible condition through the high usage of the next few months? Here at Paul Davies, we know a little about kitchen appliances online. We've put together a short blog on tumble dryer upkeep.

Avoid putting clothes in the dryer that are too wet.

If you take clothes that haven't been spun and drained in the washing machine and put them straight into the dryer, you run the risk of damaging the drum. The clothes will be too heavy for the dryer. And they will probably need to be run twice in the drying cycle before they fully dry off. This means you'll be spending more money on our electricity bills when you don't need too.

Clean your filters on a regular basis.

Cleaning your filter prevents any chance of overheating and any fire hazards. It's super simple to clean! Just lift out the filter from your dryer and vacuum up whatever the filter has been collected. The filter can also be washed under the cold tap. But make sure the filter is completely dry before you place it back in the dryer.

Don't overload the drum.

When the dryer drum becomes too full, it can damage the drum. It will also prevent the hot air from circulating correctly and take longer and more energy to dry the clothes. If you overload the dryer time after time, then you're going to end up running up your energy bill and you could possible end up damaging your clothes.
