- Check your filter!
This is one of the main causes of having a smelly dishwasher. Many people don't realise that they have a filter, so it's important to look in your manual and find out where yours is. Your filter should be cleaned regularly. If you're in a hard water area, you can use a soft brush to clean off any deposits. Otherwise, using hot water and a sponge will work just fine.
- Look for mold.
This isn't an indication of your home cleanliness at all. But, when a closed environment is also constantly warm and wet, it can create the perfect breeding ground for mold. One easy way to try and avoid a build up of mold is to leave the dishwasher open a tiny bit to let some air in and dry out. If there's already some mold in your dishwasher, then it's worth putting your kitchen appliances Manchester through a deep clean!
- Check underneath and behind.
If your dishwasher has still got a pong to it, then all we can advise is it's worth taking the washer out and checking around the sides, behind and underneath the actual appliance. It could be something as simple some food or dirt stuck behind that's gone off.
If you're still dealing with a smelly kitchen appliance, then it could be worth calling out a plumber. You might have an internal issue that you can't fix.
