How to care for your fridge freezer
It's a kitchen appliance that we use on a daily basis, but when it comes to being cleaned or maintenance, it's definitely an appliance that gets dropped to the bottom of the list. The main reason that actually brings us to cleaning our fridges and freezers is when we get an unwelcoming smell when we open the door. But that smell should be the least of our worries. You could actually risk getting ill from the build up of bacteria.
So why is it that we don't clean our fridges and freezers as much as we should? It may seem like a difficult job, but we're going to break it down into smaller daily cleaning, weekly cleaning and more of a deep clean that can be carried out every 3 to 4 months.

As well as wiping down with a deodorising solution, you could also use a deodoriser that can be kept in the fridge 24/7. Baking soda is a super simple, yet super effective way to remove any lingering smells. You can imply pour some out into a small container and leave it in the back of your fridge.
It's recommended that once a week you go through your fridge and freezer and throw away anything old or mouldy. When it comes to a deep clean, it's not as scary or as big a job as it seems. If you're doing your daily and weekly cleans then all your deep clean may consist of is removing everything out of your fridge and freezer, throwing out everything that you wont use/eat and giving everything a good scrub with some hot, soapy water. It's as simple as that!
