Why choose a chest freezer? 

If you have a large family, maybe you have pets who are raw fed, or you just enjoying host parties and feeding people who come to visit you. You may find yourself struggling to fit everything you need into the freezer that comes with your fridge. There's only a set amount of space in those four cabinets and once it's full, it's full! You can of course, have a big clean out, throw away old food, things that no one likes. You could also defrost for freezer to see if you had a build up of ice taking up some valuable space. But once all this has been done, it probably won't be long until your freezer is full once again! 

Whereas, if you had a chest freezer you've got a huge amount of space specifically dedicated to all your freezer food. Not to mention, for the amount of extra space they provide, they are incredibly inexpensive. 

If you are a bulk buyer, or you meal prep then the chest freezer will be your new best friend! It can also help you save money if you do bulk buy produce. The larger the amount you buy, or if you buy things closer to the use by date for cheaper than normal price, you can then freeze it all and use it in the future. 

However, we do have to flag up a few cons when it comes to chest freezers. They come with a huge amount of storage space but that means they're going to take up a lot of room in your home. It can make your room look cluttered/smaller if you don't have ample space for it. Another con is that most models (the cheaper ones anyway) aren't frost free so you will need to defrost it at regular intervals.
